About Mitzi McBride
Hi! I’m Mitzi and I’m glad you’re here. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience in walking with children and families through their journey to emotional healing. I am passionate about creating a safe and authentic space for others to heal, develop, and learn skills to fully live.
I’ve worked in many settings including foster care, community mental health, school based counseling, and years of international orphan care in Zambia, Africa.
One of the most important things to know is that I am a follower of Jesus and that informs my worldview. This does not, however, disqualify any person, issue, or religion from receiving professional therapeutic services. The spiritual component can be integrated into any service per client request.
I'm a wife and mom of 7 (birth and adopted) amazing kids. I can often be found on the sidelines of a field cheering them on or in a pick up line (can I get an Amen?). I enjoy sports, traveling, drinking tea in the early evening, writing, and letting my feet hit the African dirt as much as possible!

About Claudia Mattox
You deserve to live a life that leaves you feeling fulfilled and excited. I am passionate about working with you in overcoming difficulties that occur through the growing pains of being human. From kids that struggle with knowing how to deal with their emotions, to individuals that are struggling in different areas of your life, I specialize in helping you work through the trauma (big and small) that is keeping you feeling stuck.
I offer an integrated approach through attachment-focused and person-centered therapy, while utilizing interventions and strategies from cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed, and trust-based relational interventions. I have received extensive training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for processing trauma.
You are not alone in the challenges that present themselves as you walk through life. My own life experiences and personal healing journey have equipped me so that I am able to walk with you on your own path to healing. I would love to connect with you and answer any questions you have about the counseling journey.
When I'm not being a therapist you can find me outside hiking with my husband or kayaking in The Woodlands.
How It Works
If you’re considering therapy or coaching, congratulations on making the first hard step (or click!). It’s a brave decision and I’m glad you’re here. Here’s how it works:
Schedule an Exploration call.- Complete the form and indicate who you'd like to see and hear back from me or Claudia within 24 hours.
On the Call - We will talk about your situation, your desires and goals, and make a plan for the next right thing.
If therapy or coaching is the right fit, then we will set up the initial appointment. If it isn’t the right fit, you will be given resources and other possible options that might meet your needs best.
